# Auto-detecting deals from email

> From 'looks like a deal' to opportunity record.

Octolane scans your sent and received mail for buying-intent patterns. When a thread crosses the threshold, it proposes an opportunity with:

* Account (auto-created if new)
* Primary contact
* Estimated stage based on conversation depth
* Suggested amount when one has been mentioned
