# Connect your workspace

> Connect Gmail and Calendar and confirm that Octolane can begin assembling your CRM.

Connect the conversations and meetings that should become the foundation of your CRM.

**Time:** 2–5 minutes

**Before you begin:** Sign in with the Google account you use for customer conversations.

## Connect Gmail and Calendar

**1. Create or open your workspace**

Sign in at [octolane.com](https://www.octolane.com) and complete the workspace prompt.

**2. Connect Gmail**

Choose the inbox that contains your customer conversations and complete Google authorization.

**3. Connect Google Calendar**

Connect the calendar that contains your customer meetings. Octolane uses attendees and meeting history to connect people with the correct records.

**4. Let the first sync begin**

You can continue using Octolane while records are assembled in the background.

## Check your work

Open **Accounts** or **Contacts**. A successful connection begins populating records from external conversations and meetings.

> [accordion] I connected the wrong Google account
>
> Open workspace settings, disconnect the account, and reconnect with the correct address before inviting teammates.

> [accordion] No records have appeared yet
>
> Confirm that the connected inbox contains external conversations. Initial processing time varies with inbox size. If nothing appears after the sync finishes, [contact support](https://octolane.com/docs/support/contact).
