# Setting up Gmail

> Connect, permissions, and what Octolane reads.

## Connect

Settings → Integrations → Gmail → Connect. Sign in with your Google Workspace account.

## Permissions

Octolane requests read access to your mailbox. We never send email on your behalf without your explicit approval.

## What we read

* Email metadata (from, to, subject, date)
* Email bodies for accounts already in your CRM or auto-detected as deals
* Attachments referenced in deal threads

We do not read personal email outside of your business domain by default.
